Merry Christmas 12/24/2009

Christmas dinner very good this year we only wanted to have out little family totally together, and it was very nice and good to Sophie enjoyed it as well.

Ok so we all know uncle larry has a big big couch why is it we buy more and larger couches to be able to have lot's of room for everyone. But we still try to sit so close to everyone, I see it but I don't understand it I need space but not this group they need to have less room and to be sitting on each other they kill me.
But they do have a lot of fun.

Saying goodbye to my Dad John R Mullen

With this posting I wanted to leave this with anyone who might see it or have any comments for this Blog. My dad John had many talents, good times and we had bad times. The greatest gift was the gift of forgiving, my dad and I had a past of many good memories and that is what I will always remember. The one thing I wish I could of said to my dad would of been I love you Dad, so I leave my lasted words for him on my Blog. Your loving daughter Jolene Eva Mullen. Dad many you be patient with your self and remember you didn't leave this earth with any regrets you had your family back it took some time, but time did heal all. See you later.

My sister's Michelle stayed up most of the night on Thursday making sure all the pictures were perfect and they were. My oldest sister Jeslin put the poem together was nice.

Here are the biker escorts for my dad caravan to the cemetery, these guys were really cool they had American flags on the vest and the had leather chops not sure what the right name for them are but they were cool my dad would of been very pleased.

He was respected today with going past the line of man and women recognising a comrade.

We just got home from Utah from being there for two weeks my dad past away on Oct 2 2009 was not what anyone in our family thought might happen. I hope on Monday to update everyone I'm having all four wisdom teeth being pulled I'm sure I will not be a happy camper I'm sure. So I would ck our Blog out on weds by the latest, or you can also find us on Face book I updated it today with all picture no video but I hope by Tuesday it all should be done.

Sophie enjoys trying to read every night before bed, I'm truly glad she started right off a love for books. Don't forget tearing out pages and trying to eat them before mom takes them way.



I will so try and re charge the battery so I can take pictures of our apartment, sorry mom I keep forgetting to update them and take them as well. So here are some of Sophie room before our camera dead.


So this weekend we finally had some RAH " Rest @ Home." We had a good quiet weekend much need we are always on the go and this week ofter getting yet another cortisone injection in knee hoping it would help with some of this crazy pain. We also did Sophie hand and foot print to mark this time in her life. It turned out pretty good.

Sitters and blessings

Well tonight I have decided to get out a little of my frustration about how hard it is to find a safe place for my daughter it has been a long two week. I could say stressful and depressing but I really can't say that. Sophie has been with her last sister for some time, but she is no longer there which has been a blessing. I had spent an hour and half type out everything I wanted to say how angry I was with her, how very frustrated I am with her but, I'm not going to be like her and go off and tell people lies. People who really know me know I'm a good mom and very trustworthy and a good friend. I guess that's where I went wrong ask a friend to watch my child knowing they need some extra money and for my peace of mind knowing my daughter would be safe. I wish we end on better terms but she could not see it that way which is sad, she is younger then me and doesn't have the life experience as I do. But I am sure I have ever mother's approval knowing we are the parents not the sitters, Sophie sitter thought it would be ok to spray her with a water bottle when she didn't want her doing something. I was not ok with this Sophie is not a dog and she didn't even ask for my approval, I found out when I picked up my daughter and her shirt was all wet so I ask how Sophie got so wet so then she tells me what she has been doing. Then the last straw Sophie falls out of a chair and cuts her chin and her left foot but did I get a call NO. She said that she made the decision that she was fine and she didn't feel she needed to call me. She seems to forget I am the employer not her I am Sophie mother not her and I get to make the decision if she is ok. Then when I call her and ask her to please next time call me and let me know if my child bleeds or has a deep cut. She said well it didn't bleed she must of forgotten where I work or thought I was stupid anyone who looked @ her cut would see that it did bleed. This is the same sitter who disagreed with Sophie Doctor when Sophie had pink eye from one of her children, she told me her daughter has this all the time and in time is goes away, Sophie had her RX drops for 24 hours and it went away. She disagreed with a MD who went to medical school.
I am not a over protective parent I know my daughter is ruff she bumps her head and she gets scratches because she plays hard ok no need to call me I know this stuff is going to happen. So this really was the last straw really. The old sitter would make comments when I would leave after dropping off Sophie, things you don't say to mother who work 40 hours a week to keep there family above water.
So I would ask her to sit down and talk about it so things wouldn't get out of hand and hash it out. So we could be comfortable around each other, but she would always cancel on me or say now not a good time. I would give her paid days off and ask for a hour to clear the air but she was to immature to get things clear up. So getting down to the bottom line this happened @ a perfect time Trent was off having eye surgery and then our new ward WOW, what a great ward really helping a new family out and then we meet our new sitter I couldn't be any more happier where Sophie is now. She is happy and excited to go and play. The sitter see that Sophie really is a good baby and perfect little girl easy to handle and I'm so happy.

Blessing are the perfect way to hear what our heavenly father wants us to hear, I ask for my brother to come over to give our whole family blessings after this ordeal with Sophie's old sitter and what a blessing, Robert ask his father in law Dean to come and help with the blessing, I was pleased to have a blessing from someone who has never given me a blessing before, I was told that heavenly father knows what's going on and he is blessing us and I don't need to worry or stress that our heavenly father has already paid for this for me and the best thing is I was just fine, and then our sitter has come along and my prays were answered. This is probably the first time I have not been stressed out about finding a sitter or something that has to do with my family. I was also told that I need to forgive and truly feel better after writing out this blog getting my feelings out, I do forgiver her Sophie is safe and with a new sitter and happy. I hope everyone could read and understand my Blog when I get going I know I don't have the perfect grammar but I'm @ least able to get my feelings out. This way I don't have to tell every family member the same thing over and over. This is much better and easier too.

Happy 4th of July Camps

A perfect 4th of July, we were invited to Jennifers Mom 4th of July party and this year we went and what a blast Judy knows how to have a party.

Ok to to top off the night we were able to see some fireworks. Robert family and the Thompson, came over to our apt due to we face the mall where they shoot off the fireworks, really a nice show enjoy the video's.

Sophie totally enjoyed the fire works, poor little Ellie was tried so she was not a big fan of the firework show. Sadie so enjoyed the show as well as everyone we hope.

We have Baby Skunks

OK so we have just found out that we have baby skunks out side our building and in the golf course, they are so cute but hey do smell, the cats around our apt like to mess with them so you can smell them all the time. But it's a lot of fun to see them playing with a golf ball, and walking around because they really are so small and cute.

Sophie is One years old today.

Today we took Sophie to the Sac Zoo and Fair Tail Town for her first birthday. We had a blast Sophie really enjoyed her self. We loved the animals and the Train ride, and mom yes we found herbal ice cream @ the Zoo ok well maybe not totally herbal ice cream but she only had a little in her ice cream cone. But you will see in her pictures of how much she like it, any ways every little girl needs ice cream. Sophie enjoyed riding down the slide today. Enjoy the picture and video's.

Sophie Birthday Song @ Macaroni

Ok so a perfect close to a perfect and very busy day. We had dinner @ Macaroni Grill and this very gifted young man sang a beautifully song in Italian birthday song for Sophie and she watched him with big eyes.

We were a little worried about the weather for today but it was a warm/cool day and then this evening we had a really cool lightning storm and a warm rain. This really is the end of it so I hope you can see it on the video.

Sophie and Daddy Ice cream Day

Sophie is such a blessing she loves to have her time with daddy and enjoys eating ice cream with him, well she eats a ice cream cone but to her it's the same and until daddy gives her some then it's a all new game.

Ok everyone here it is a fully walking Sophie now all she pretty much does is walking around the house with us she loves it, she smiles and laugh when she stays up. It really is exciting to me that she wants to learn so fast with everyone around, Janea Sophie sitter told Trent today that Sophie was having a hard day due to she only wanted to walk so she fell a lot and she cried I'm sure but it paid off now she has it down totally walking to room to room with out any help and no falling. Today was a great day...We have our apartment keys we are getting ready to move this weekend to a beautiful apartment, can't wait for a new start it will be great. I only hope everyone from our ward comes and helps like I hope they will. I will put up pictures of our new place as soon as I can.
